Globus renaming

On 22 June 2026, at 3:30pm, we will be renaming our Globus endpoint and mapped collections to reflect our organisational name change from NeSI to REANNZ.

This is a change in name only. The endpoint and mapped collection Unique Identifiers (UIDs) will not change so there will be no impact to bookmarked links, transfers in progress, or other automated workflows that connect to these components.

The new names will replace the 'NeSI' prefix with a 'REANNZ' prefix and include the name of the storage endpoint where the datasets are hosted and managed. For example:

  • NeSI HPC Storage will change to be REANNZ Mahuika
  • NeSI Freezer will change to be REANNZ Freezer
  • NeSI RDC Storage will change to be REANNZ Research Developer Cloud (RDC)
