Add your Computer to Globus

To download and upload files between the Mahuika supercomputer and your personal computer, you will need to install Globus Connect Personal onto your computer.

  1. To install Globus on your computer, see:
  2. During your installation you will be asked to Log In. Login using your Globus login. This may require you to login to your Tuakiri, Github, Google, or ORCID ID account. Globus_Connect_Personal_2.png
  3. You will be required to click Allow to connect your computer to Globus. Globus_Connect_Personal_3.png
  4. Back in your Globus Connect Personal Setup screen, give a name for your computer in the Collection Name field and click save. This is your computer's Endpoint Globus_Connect_Personal_4.png
  5. Your computer will now be saved in Globus as a Globus endpoint. Back in the Globus website, you will see that your computer's Endpoint has been added to your Collections. On the Collections tab, click the Administrated By You button to see your computer's Endpoint on Globus. Globus_Connect_Personal_5.png

Add paths and external hard drives to your Globus Collect Personal

To add paths (including external hard drives) to your Globus Collect Personal:

  1. Open your Globus Collect Personal program and click on Perferences. Globus_Connect_Personal_6.png
  2. Click on the Access tab and click the + button. Globus_Connect_Personal_7.png
  3. Find the path you want to add to Globus Connect Personal, highlight it, and click Open. Globus_Connect_Personal_8.png
  4. You will need to tick the Writable box so that you can write files to your folder Globus_Connect_Personal_9.png
